The Challenge

However, traditional methods often require destructively testing large samples of fruit, leading to significant waste. This is especially true for delicate fruits like plums and kiwis, where internal pressure is a key indicator of ripeness and quality.
The Innovation
To tackle this issue, our team developed the AVOS Mini device, which, combined with AI, allows us to accurately predict the internal pressure of plums and kiwis without damaging them. After extensive research and testing across different varieties, countries of origin, and suppliers, we trained a machine learning model to calibrate these predictions. The results were impressive—by destructively testing only 3-4% of the sample size, we achieved an average error of just 0-0.6 kg in pressure.
